Volleyball Hosts Illinois State and Bradley

Following the win at Chicago State, Inderski moved into second all-time career kills at Drake with 1,240. Freshmen Emily Plock (Altoona, Iowa) and Natalie Fry (Allen, Texas) continue to impress in their debut season. Plock grabbed 19 kills in her first weekend of Valley play, while Fry’s .376 hitting percentage ranks second in the MVC. Against Illinois State, the Bulldogs will look for their first 3-0 start in MVC play since 1996. Last week, Illinois State (9-7, 2-1) bounced back after a 3-2 loss to Missouri State by sweeping Southern Illinois and Evansville to open the conference season. The Redbirds’ junior Courtney Pence leads the NCAA in total digs (372) and is third nationally in digs per set (6.31). Illinois State also boasts standout freshman Stef Jankiewicz who averaged 11.12 assists per set over the weekend, earning the MVC Freshman of the Week honor.
