Denver’s Alex Gasson was able to slip past Ben Stride in a thrilling third-set tiebreaker to give the Pioneers the 4-3 win. The Bulldogs didn’t let dropping the doubles point affect them early in singles with sophomore Tom Hands cruising past Wyatt Lovera 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 singles to tie the match up at 1-1. Junior Bayo Philips put Drake up 2-1 with a straight sets victory over Pedro Del Valle, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6.
