first_imgWilmer Eye Institute within Johns Hopkins University, School ofMedicine invites applications for a full-time faculty positionin the Lions Low Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center.Applicants should have an OD or MD degree and have completed anaccredited residency and/or fellowship in Vision Rehabilitation, orhave a record of extensive clinical experience caring for lowvision patients of all ages.The position requires a commitment to clinical care, teaching andresearch. In addition to providing direct patient care, the facultymember will be involved in mentoring a fellow in VisionRehabilitation, ophthalmology resident clinical education,participation in grand rounds and community outreach. Mentorshipand dedicated time is provided to participate in research andeducational activities. The faculty member will be joining athriving group at the Lions Vision Center that is composed of threefull-time doctors, a fellow, a rehabilitation therapist, anoccupational therapist and an ophthalmic technician, in addition toour full-time NIH-funded research team. This may includedocumentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicellavaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratorytesting. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases areordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except forthose employees who provide results of blood tests or immunizationdocumentation from their own health care providers.
