first_img Barcelona star Neymar 1 The father of Brazilian star Neymar has confirmed Manchester United DID try to sign his son in the summer transfer window.It United were reported to have tabled a record-breaking offer for the Barcelona forward, as the club chased a marquee signing towards the end of the market.The deal on the table was rumoured to be around £240million, including transfer fee and wages, but Neymar Santos Sr has revealed Barca rejected the offer out of hand.Barcelona have since confirmed they are working on tying Neymar down to a long-term contract at the Nou Camp, and see the 23-year-old staying at the Catalan club ‘for life’.“The offer reached Barcelona and the club contacted us saying they were not going to sell,” Neymar Sr told Boa Tarde Fox.“They asked if we were interested, but that wasn’t the case. Barcelona are not selling, he has three years still to go on his contract.“It was Manchester’s deal, but that offer is not on the table now, it has fallen through.”last_img read more
