Perry has been involved with the Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula for 13 years, in an essay she wrote: “The supportive staff, empowering environment, and belief in my future inspired me to give back.” Perry is now an employee with the Boys and Girls Club: “I have worked there through my entire high school career. I still feel the love that I felt 13 years ago. Perry will now travel to California in May to compete at the regional event for the chance to compete at the Boys and Girls Club of America’s National Youth of the Year event. Samantha Perry traveled to Fairbanks and competed with other Boys and Girls Club members from across the state.In a release from the Boys and Girls Club, in addition to being a member of the National Honor Society, and student council, Perry also has a long list of school activities and community involvement.
