In an aggressive bid to tap the outbound traffic, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a string of packages from Delhi that would take its patrons to the world famous Ferrari World amusement park in Abu Dhabi, the cosmopolitan city of Dubai, the sparkling beaches of Singapore and Malaysia, and the Buddhist country of Thailand. For those interested in having a brush with the Ramayana sites outside India, IRCTC has also planned a trip to Sri Lanka.The Dubai / Abu Dhabi package, scheduled for September 30 and November 4, will have a duration of 3 nights / 4 days and will cost Rs 52,6000 on a double occupancy basis. The trip to Singapore and Malaysia, planned for October 1, will have duration of 7 nights and 8 days and has been priced at Rs 67,800 on a triple sharing basis. For those opting for ‘Amazing Thailand’ package, IRCTC has chalked out an itinerary that would take them to Bangkok and Pattaya. The 4 nights / 5 days tour will begin on September 25 and will cost the patrons Rs 40,800 on a triple occupancy basis. The Sri Lanka package, known as the ‘Ramayana Tour’, will begin on October 21. The itinerary, comprising 5 nights / 6 days, has been priced at Rs 48,600 on a triple-sharing basis.“All the packages will take off from Delhi and have been designed in such a way that will make travelling completely hassle-free. The packages include return flight fare, accommodation in star hotels, transport facilities and meals,” an IRCTC official said. “In view of the enthusiastic response to all our tours, we are planning to launch more outbound packages from Delhi for new destinations,” he added.
